DESIGN PROCESS

We begin by understanding you, your lifestyle, values, priorities, family routines, future needs, and the feeling you want your home to evoke.
OUTCOME: A shared understanding of what matters most and the home needs to achieve.
DURATION: 1-2 DAYS

Before drawing anything, we analyse your site in detail: orientation, slope, views, privacy, council controls, easements, solar access, overshadowing, street character, and environmental factors. This allows us to design with confidence and avoid dead ends or compliance issues later.
OUTCOME: A clear design strategy tailored to your site’s unique qualities and constraints.
DURATION: 1-2 days -
We translate your brief and the site strategy into a clear, considered design direction. This is where overall layout, spatial relationships, orientation, and the home’ s general form start to take shape. You ’ll receive Concept Plans and supporting diagrams to review together, refine, and align before moving forward.
OUTCOME: A clear, agreed design direction that balances lifestyle needs, site conditions, and planning requirements
DURATION: 1-week

With the overall concept agreed, we refine the design, detailing the façade, window placement and sizing, external materials. Any remaining layout decisions are resolved here, before documentation begins.
OUTCOME: A well-resolved design that is ready to be fully documented accurately and efficiently.
DURATION: 1-week -
We prepare the technical drawings and details required for pricing. approvals, and construction. This is where the deep work happens behind the scenes.
OUTCOME: Clear, build-ready drawings suitable for approvals, builder pricing, and construction.
DURATION: 1-2 weeks

We prepare and lodge the approval package for DA or CDC and respond to any council or certifier queries that arise during assessment. This stage is largely driven by external authorities and consultant timeframes, which is why durations can vary significantly.
OUTCOME: An approved set of drawings that comply with planning and regulatory requirements.
DURATION: 1-6 weeks -
Once approvals are in place, we issue the final drawing set for builder pricing and construction. We remain available to answer builder queries, and assist with minor documentation updates if required.
While construction is managed by your chosen builder, we continue to support you from a design perspective to help ensure the project is built in line with the approved documentation.
OUTCOME: A smooth handover to your builder with continued design support through construction.
